The 30mm wide tubeless ready rims create a broader tire bed that allows modern 2.2 to 2.5-inch MTB tires to form a more rounded profile, improving cornering grip and reducing rolling resistance on loose terrain. At 24mm deep, the aero profile keeps weight low while adding enough lateral stiffness to handle the off-camber forces typical of XC and trail riding. Pillar 1423 spokes are cold-forged from high-tensile stainless steel, delivering a spoke that is 23 percent stiffer at the nipple end than a standard round-section spoke — a measurable advantage when tracking straight lines on technical singletrack. Star Ratchet hubs are available in 36T or 45T engagement versions, with the 45T option reducing dead band to just 8 degrees so power transfer from pedal stroke to wheel rotation is nearly instantaneous. Ceramic bearing hubs run with lower friction than standard steel races, extending service intervals and maintaining smooth spin even after deep mud and river crossings.
